企业健康与福祉

Educational and wellbeing programmes for employers, delivered by a college of Chinese medicine rather than a wellness supplier. Lectures, in-house teaching, treatment days and policy advice — clearly bounded, properly insured, and honest about what they are.

The offer

Programmes for employers

Five formats, each scoped to your organisation. They can be run individually or combined into a programme across the year.

Workplace interest in Chinese medicine is usually met either by nothing at all or by a supplier selling treatments. We offer a third position: an educational institution teaching your staff what this tradition is, what it is not, and how to judge the claims they encounter — with optional practical wellbeing sessions delivered to a clinical standard.

Everything below is educational or wellbeing provision. It is not medical treatment, it does not involve diagnosing anybody, and it does not replace occupational health or your existing employee support arrangements.

Formats

What we can deliver

Each format below is described in the same way: what it involves, who it is for, and how it is delivered.

Lunchtime lecture series

A series of short talks delivered in your building or online, timed to fit a lunch break. Each session takes one question about Chinese medicine and answers it properly — what the tradition holds, what the research actually shows, and how to read the claims you meet online.

What it involves

  • A series of [XX]-minute talks, usually monthly or fortnightly
  • Topics chosen with you from a standing list, or written for your sector
  • Time for questions, and a one-page summary circulated afterwards
  • Recordings available to staff who cannot attend live

Who it is for

All staff, on any shift pattern. No prior knowledge assumed, and nothing that requires anyone to disclose their own health.

How it is delivered

On your premises, in a meeting room or staff area, or online. Delivered by college teaching staff.

Chinese Health Literacy, in-house

Our public-facing Chinese Health Literacy course, delivered exclusively to your staff. It is the programme we recommend to anyone who wants to understand Chinese medicine before deciding what to do about it — including how to tell a well-run clinic from a badly run one.

What it involves

  • An eight to ten week course, adapted to your timetable
  • The tradition's core ideas, explained in plain English and in its own terms
  • How to assess evidence and advertising claims about traditional medicine
  • How to ask a practitioner the right questions about training, insurance and safety

Who it is for

Employers who want a genuine educational programme rather than a wellness gesture — particularly useful for HR, occupational health and safety teams.

How it is delivered

On site or online, at times that suit your operation. See the full programme content on the health literacy page.

On-site Tui Na and massage days

A day of seated or couch-based Tui Na and massage sessions for staff, delivered by qualified practitioners. This is practical, hands-on wellbeing work — not medical treatment, and not an assessment of anybody's condition.

What it involves

  • A booking sheet run by your team, with [XX]-minute appointments
  • A private or screened space, a chair or couch, and access to hand-washing
  • A short wellbeing conversation at the start of each session, not a case history
  • Staff briefed in advance on what the sessions are and are not

Who it is for

Employers with staff in physically demanding roles, or teams under sustained pressure. Suitable for groups of [XX]–[XX] over a day.

How it is delivered

On your premises, by qualified practitioners, each holding current professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Seasonal wellbeing workshops

Workshops built around the traditional Chinese calendar — eating with the seasons, sleep and rest in winter, managing the transition into autumn. Educational content drawn from the yang sheng tradition of daily habit, presented honestly and without individual prescription.

What it involves

  • A [XX]-hour workshop, in person or online, run once a season
  • The traditional framework, explained as a framework rather than as medical advice
  • Practical, low-cost suggestions that staff can take or leave
  • Handouts and recipes with clear educational labelling

Who it is for

All staff. Workshops are deliberately non-clinical, so nobody is asked about their health and nobody is singled out.

How it is delivered

On your premises or online. Can be paired with a lunchtime lecture series, or run as a standalone programme.

Workplace policy advice

Advisory work for HR and occupational health teams on supporting employees who use traditional medicine: what a policy should and should not say, how to handle requests for time off for appointments, and how to talk about complementary treatment without straying into medical advice.

What it involves

  • Review of your existing wellbeing, sickness and adjustment policies
  • Written guidance on wording that is accurate about Chinese medicine and safe for your organisation
  • Briefing sessions for managers and HR staff
  • Signposting to the professional standards and insurance checks that matter

Who it is for

HR directors, occupational health teams, wellbeing leads, and organisations with a diverse workforce whose healthcare choices include traditional medicine.

How it is delivered

A desk review followed by a written report and, if useful, a short briefing session for managers. Advisory only — we do not give legal advice.

Risk assessment and insurance

We do not deliver on employer premises until the college has completed a risk assessment and confirmed insurance cover for the activity. That check covers the room, the equipment, manual handling, infection prevention, first aid arrangements and your own site rules. Please allow [XX] working days between agreeing a programme and the first delivery date. The same requirement applies to any on-site treatment day, without exception.

Working with you

How we work with you

Six stages from first conversation to written review. Nothing is chargeable until you have approved a written proposal.
  1. Stage 1

    Initial conversation

Tell us what you are trying to achieve — attendance, morale, education, a policy problem, or all four. We will say honestly which formats fit and which do not. Start with the enquiry form.
  2. Stage 2

    Scoping and risk assessment

We agree the audience, the site, the timing and the practical requirements, and we complete the risk assessment and insurance check for anything delivered on your premises.
  3. Stage 3

    Written proposal

A written scope and fee proposal: sessions, dates, who delivers, what you provide, and what we need from you. Fees are quoted per programme — enquire for fees. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
  4. Stage 4

    Scheduling and communications

We supply the wording for your internal announcement, the joining instructions, and anything staff need to know in advance — including what a session is not, so that nobody arrives expecting a diagnosis.
  5. Stage 5

    Delivery

Sessions delivered by qualified practitioners and teaching staff. A named college contact is available throughout, including on the day.
  6. Stage 6

    Feedback and review

Feedback is collected, analysed and written up. We review what worked with you and agree whether to continue, change the format, or stop — a programme that has served its purpose should end.

Boundaries

What happens in the room, and what does not

Employers need to know exactly what they are buying, and staff need to know exactly what they are walking into. Both are set out here.
  • No diagnosis, no treatment, no case notes

Nobody is assessed, diagnosed or treated at a workplace session. A hands-on session is general wellbeing work; if a practitioner notices something that concerns them, they will suggest the person sees their GP — the same as any responsible first-aider would.

  • Nobody is asked to disclose their health

Attendance is voluntary, and no session requires anyone to talk about their own health in front of colleagues. Any wellbeing conversation at a hands-on session is brief, private and non-clinical.

  • Clinical elements are delivered by qualified practitioners

Where a programme includes a hands-on element, it is delivered by a practitioner who is qualified in that modality and holds current professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Certificates are available for your records.

  • Consent, privacy and data protection

Anyone receiving a hands-on session gives written consent first, and may decline any part of it. We do not collect health information from your staff, and we do not report anything about an individual back to their employer.

  • Your safeguarding, first aid and site rules apply

We work within your policies, not around them. The risk assessment covers emergency arrangements, and our staff are briefed on your site rules before delivery.

Educational content notice

Content on this website describes Chinese medicine as it is taught and practised historically and is provided for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your own health, and never delay or stop conventional treatment because of something you have read here.

Occupational health and your existing provision

These programmes sit alongside your occupational health, employee assistance and safety arrangements — they do not replace any of them. If a member of staff needs clinical help, the right route is their GP or your existing occupational health service, and we will say so rather than offering to help ourselves. [CONFIRM: college policy on signposting and referral in workplace settings]

Build a wellbeing programme that is honest about what it is

Lectures, in-house teaching, on-site Tui Na days, seasonal workshops and policy advice — scoped to your organisation, and delivered by a college rather than a sales team.
